Disability Living Allowance advice and guidance
DLA is a benefit for those who need help caring for themselves or getting around.
Many children on the autistic spectrum qualify for Disability Living Allowance.
BAS, in collaboration with Simone Poole of West Berkshire Council’s Welfare benefits team, have written two guides which will help you work through the DLA form for children. These guides are specifically for children with an ASD.
There are two versions of the DLA form for children currently being issued by the Department of Works and Pensions.
This first guide is for the orange version of the form
