These workshops are led by Autism Berkshire’s benefits adviser, Kevin Jackson, who has extensive experience of supporting autistic individuals and their families with benefit applications, appeals and tribunal hearings.
This workshop will include detailed advice about what benefits are available, particularly Personal Independence Payment (PIP) and Universal Credit,how to complete application forms, what supporting evidence to include when making a claim and the appeals process.
Kevin will also look at what employment advice and support is available and disabled people’s rights in the workplace.
This workshop is open to autistic young people and adults (aged 16+) and their parents/carers who live in Berkshire, or who attend a college or university in the county.
It will take place at Autism Berkshire’s office at 40 Caversham Road, in Reading town centre, which is a short walk from the railway station. town centre bus stops and the Garrard Street and Cattle Market car parks.
