Pamela’s abseil challenge raises almost £500

Our congratulations and thanks to daredevil 83-year-old Pamela Hill, who raised almost £500 for Autism Berkshire and another charity, Heartbeats, by completing an abseil challenge.

Pamela, from Tilehurst, was sponsored by friends and family to tackle the descent on a rope at Wokefield Park, near Mortimer, on Sunday, July 24.

She will be dividing the money between Autism Berkshire and Heartbeats, which helps cardiac patients and their families in West Berkshire.

She chose to support Autism Berkshire in honour of her grandson, who is on the autism spectrum.
