Pre-Assessment workshops in West Berkshire still have places available

There is still time to register for free places at our pre-assessment workshops for parents and carers in West Berkshire later this month.

The half-day workshops provide advice for parents and carers of children aged 5+ who are on the Berkshire CAMHS waiting list for an autism spectrum assessment.

Two sessions are available, in Calcot on Monday, November 21, and in Hungerford on Wednesday, November 23.

Many families face a long wait for an appointment. The workshops provide practical advice and information about support that is available to them during this period.

They include:

  • A basic look at autism and sensory issues
  • Strategies to help communication and address sensory and behavioural issues
  • Information on what happens in the assessment
  • Signposting for support if you receive a diagnosis/if you do not receive a diagnosis of autism

The Calcot workshop will run from 10am to 12.30pm at the East Family Wellbeing Hub (formerly Calcot, Theale and Area Children’s Centre), in Curtis Road, RG31 4XG.

The Hungerford workshop will run from 10.30am to 1pm in the Committee Room at the Croft Hall, in The Croft, RG17 0HY.

There is another pre-assessment workshop in Hungerford this year, on Monday, December 12, and further sessions will be held at both locations next year.
