Free places are available at a workshop next week for parents and carers in Slough whose children on the NHS waiting list for an autism diagnosis.
The pre-assessment workshop takes place on Tuesday, December 13, from 10am to 1pm, at the Copthorne Hotel Slough, in Cippenham Lane.
It will provide information and advice to parents and carers whose children are aged 5+ and on the Berkshire NHS CAMHS waiting list for assessment for an autism spectrum condition (ASC).
Topics covered will include:
- A basic look at autism and sensory issues
- Strategies to help communication, sensory and behaviour issues
- information on what happens in the assessment
- Signposting for further help if you receive a diagnosis and what to do if you do not receive a diagnosis.
Places are also still available for a pre-assessment workshop for parents and carers living in West Berkshire next Monday, December 12. This workshop is at the Croft Hall, in The Croft, Hungerford, and runs from 10.30am to 1pm.
Further workshops will be held at both these locations and at venues in Reading, Calcot, Bracknell and Windsor early next year.
