Join us at Reading Families’ Forum’s Information and Fun Afternoon

Autism Berkshire’s Reading and Wokingham Home Visit Support Worker Jo Roberts and our Benefits Adviser Kevin Jackson will be at Reading Families’ Forum Information and Fun Afternoon on Saturday to provide information about our services and answer questions.

The event takes place from 2.30pm to 5pm at Academy Sports, in Northumberland Avenue, Reading, RG2 8DF. Admission is free of charge.

Jo can help with advice on support we offer to families living with autism and Kevin will be happy to answer questions about Disability Living Allowance (DLA) and Personal Independence Payments (PIP) for children and over-16s living with autism, as well as benefits for carers. We look forward to seeing you there.

A wide range of other organisations will be at the event, including local charities working with children with special needs and disabilities, along with staff from Reading Borough Council and Berkshire Carers’ Hub.

There will be fun activities for children including face-painting, circus skills and Reading Football Club’s Community Trust team.

And Reading Families’ Forum’s next coffee evening, on Thursday, March 30, will feature a presentation on how to get support for children with special educational needs at nursery, school and college, with Sue Briggs, Reading Borough council’s SEN School Partnership Adviser and Lesley Chamberlain, from the council’s SEND Information and Advice Support Service (SENDIASS).

The coffee evening is at Krazy Play Days, Unit 7, Sterling Way, Tilehurst, RG30 6HW, from 6.30pm to 8.30pm. Entry is free of charge.

Qualified carers will look after children while parents attend the talk, which will start at 7pm. Please note that child care places must be booked in advance as numbers are limited. Siblings are welcome to attend. Call or email Fran Morgan using the contact details below.
