Autism Berkshire is delighted to be able to offer a new free Volunteering Skills course to people who live in Reading, Wokingham and West Berkshire.
The course will run online over six weekly sessions in February and March and will cover topics including understanding autism and support available locally; Autism Berkshire and our volunteer initiative; listening skills; and teamwork
It is anticipated that those who take part in the course will go on to volunteer with Autism Berkshire on a regular basis, with a variety of roles available.
Candidates, who must be aged 18 or above, will be supported to choose the right role for them within the charity.
The course will start on Monday, February 22, from 1pm to 2.45pm. Subsequent sessions are at the same time on Mondays March 1, March 8, March 15, March 22 and March 29.
- Please note that this course will only run if a minimum number of participants are registered.
Due to funding rules, this course is only open to people who live in the Reading, Wokingham and West Berkshire council areas.
If you are interested in registering for a free place on this course, please complete and submit our online contact form or email contact@autismberkshire.org.uk. Please put Volunteering Skills Course in the subject line.
Those interested will need to apply and be interviewed before being allocated a place in the course.
We are looking for people able to work on their own initiative, once trained, so the course may not be suitable for those who would need ongoing support themselves to be effective volunteers.
If you have any questions about the course and volunteering opportunities, use the email address above or call 01189 594 594 (option 1) and leave a voicemail message including a daytime phone number.
- This course is supported by Reading Borough Council’s New Directions College community learning service.
