Attend our 2021 AGM in person at TVAP or online

Autism Berkshire’s 2021 AGM will be held in conjunction with a Family Fun Day for our members at the Thames Valley Adventure Playground in Taplow on Sunday, November 21.

The Annual General Meeting will take place at 2pm, with the Family Fun Day running from 1pm to 3pm.

We have to limit the number of tickets available to attend fun day and/or the meeting in person, due to capacity limits at the venue, so members will also be able to join the event online using Zoom and put questions to the trustees and senior managers.

The meeting will hear an update about our work in 2020-21, including the successful launch of the Berkshire West Autism & ADHD Support Service.

We will also be asking members to vote on a special resolution to change the area of benefit for our work from the county of Berkshire to Berkshire & the Thames Valley.

The change is needed to reflect the ongoing expansion of the Autism Alert Card scheme to cover Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Milton Keynes, as well as Berkshire, and to enable us to apply for funding to support the operation of the scheme across the region.

Full details of this proposal are included in a mailing that members will receive shortly, along with a copy of our 2020-2021 Annual Review. If you do not receive a mailing by Wednesday, November 10, please contact us on 01189 594 594 or email admin@autismberkshire.org.uk

Members who are not able to attend the meeting in person or online will be able to cast a proxy vote on the proposal, using a form included in the mailing.

Members of our team will be on duty to supervise children so that parents can take part in the meeting, ask questions of the trustees and senior managers, and have their say about current services and improvements they would like to see.

  • Details of how to register for free tickets for the AGM and the fun day are included in our latest members’ e-newsletter, which was sent out today. Please remember to check your junk mail folder if you cannot see the newsletter in your inbox.

NB: One family ticket for the fun day covers admission for up to two adults and up to three children. If you would like to bring more than three children, please email us in advance at contact@autismberkshire.org.uk

TVAP is on the A4 Bath Road at the west end of Taplow, next to the railway bridge. Buses between Maidenhead and Slough stop nearby at the Miller & Carter pub and steakhouse and the playground is a 15-minute walk from Taplow railway station, which is served by Transport for London stopping trains between Reading and Paddington.

  • There is still time to submit nominations for new members to join the board of trustees that oversees Autism Berkshire’s work. These must be received by this coming Sunday, November 7, either by post or email. Click here for more details if you are interested in finding out more becoming a trustee.
