We are working with our friends at employment advice and support charity Graft Thames Valley to run a free autism awareness workshop in Newbury later this month for people whose jobs bring them into contact with autistic people.
The aim of the session is to help professionals working in a range of sectors to develop an understanding of what autism is, how it can affect autistic people’s social and communication skills, sensory processing and behaviour, and learn about strategies that they can use to support autistic people.
It will be suitable for those with no previous knowledge, or only a basic understanding of autism and those with some knowledge, but who are looking for a quick refresher session.
The session will run from 10.30am to 12.30pm on Friday, April 19, at Broadway House in Newbury town centre.
If you would like to attend this workshop, call Tony Young on 07796 276290 to request a place.
- Autism Berkshire is also able to provide bespoke training about autism to organisations including schools, care services and businesses on a fee-paying basis. Click here for more details and to enquire about booking a workshop, email contact@autismberkshire.org.uk or call 01189 594 594 (option 1).
