SUMMARY:Online workshop: Preparing for Adulthood
DESCRIPTION:This new evidence-based workshop aims to help the parents and c
 arers of autistic and ADHD teenagers (aged 13 to 17) to prepare for and na
 vigate the transition to adulthood and to support their young people with 
 knowledge\, skills and confidence.\n\nAmong the topics covered are thinkin
 g about individual strengths and challenges\, plus what is important to an
 d for their young person and tips about how to discuss this with them\, id
 entify areas to focus on from a checklist of suggestions and make a plan w
 ith their young person about what they want to work on first and next.\n\n
 It is provided by the Berkshire West Autism &amp\; ADHD Support Service fo
 r the parents and carers of autistic and ADHD teenagers who live in the Be
 rkshire West NHS area (Reading\, Wokingham and West Berkshire) whether the
 y have a diagnosis\, are waiting for a Berkshire CAMHS assessment\, or whe
 re autism is suspected\, and who are in mainstream education or home-educa
 ted and do not have learning disabilities.\n\nFor more information and to
