Reading group for autistic women

This group offers an opportunity for autistic women, aged 18 and above, who live in the Reading Borough Council area, to make connections, share experiences and build a support network with people who ‘get’ them.

It provides a safe space where they set the agenda for discussions and activities and an opportunity to develop friendships and a peer support network to improve their wellbeing and self-confidence.

Our senior adult autism support mentor Michelle Errington and an autistic volunteer facilitate the group and can offer advice about autism and help to get support from other services, such as healthcare, benefits advice and employment support.

The meetings take place on Mondays at the Atrium coffee shop, at Greyfriars Church, in Friar Street, between 11.30am and 1pm.

Forthcoming meetings:

  • Monday, July 6
  • Monday, July 20
  • Monday, August 3
  • Monday, August 17

We also have a group in Reading for autistic young adults, aged 18 to 30 – click here for details.

  • The group is funded by Reading Borough Council’s Closing the Gap project, which supports work to improve mental health and reduce loneliness and inequality in the town.
