Event Type

Find out about your rights to claim benefts and how to make a claim, plus information about employment advice and support and workplace rights.

Please note that these workshops are open to autistic young people and adults (aged 16+) who live in Berkshire, or who attend a college or university in the county, and their parents or carers – we regret that we are not able to offer advice to people from other areas, due to funding rules.

These free workshops are led by Autism Berkshire’s benefits service manager, Kevin Jackson, who has extensive experience of supporting autistic individuals and their families with benefit applications, appeals and at tribunal hearings.

This session will include detailed advice about Personal Independence Payment (PIP) for those aged 16+, how to complete the application form, what supporting evidence to include when making a claim, and the appeals process.

Kevin will also look at what employment advice and support is available and disabled people’s rights in the workplace.

For more information about this workshop or support from our Benefits Service, email benefits@autismberkshire.org.uk or call 01189 594 594 (option 2) and leave a voicemail with your contact details. One of our advisers will call you back.

Information about Universal Credit and Employment & Support Allowance will be provided in online workshops on Mondays July 20 and August 10. Click here for details.

  • This workshop is supported by Reading Borough Council’s New Directions adult learning and employment service.
