Art in the Summer workshops for autistic adults at Beech Lodge School, Maidenhead 2023

In 2020 Autism Berkshire received a donation of more than £6,000 raised in memory of the late Nancy England, a former assistant tutor on our community education courses and a well-known school teacher in Maidenhead.

Her family asked us to use the money to support activities linked to the arts and to encourage creativity for autistic people.

The Covid pandemic delayed development of a suitable project but in the summer of 2023 we ran a series of free Art in the Summer workshops for autistic adults at Beech Lodge School, in Stubbings, just outside Maidenhead.

Nancy’s daughter Sophie visited one of the workshops to learn more about the project – click here for details.
