Fun Day travel alert: M4 closed west of Theale on Sunday

Anyone travelling to our 2017 World Autism Awareness Day fun day at Bucklebury Farm Park on Sunday from Reading and the east of Berkshire should use the A4 from junction 12 of the M4 at Theale.

Due to bridge repairs, the M4 will be shut all day both ways between junction 12 and junction13 at Chieveley, meaning that only traffic from the west will be able to access the alternative approach route to the farm park from junction 13 via Hermitage.

In addition, as a result of the motorway closure, the A4 is expected to be very busy between Theale, Thatcham and Newbury, as it will form the main diversion route for motorway traffic. Please allow some extra time for your journey.

The turning for Bucklebury off the A4 is about six miles west of junction 12, just past Aldermaston Wharf, with Bucklebury Farm Park another three-and-a-half miles from the A4 turn.

  • Bucklebury Farm Park’s Woody’s Cafe will be open between 8.30am and 11.45am on Sunday, serving breakfast and hot and cold drinks – but leave some room for the barbecue lunch included in the price of fun day tickets!

Please remember that the fun day is an all-ticket event and is sold out, so please do not turn up on Sunday if you do not have tickets.
