New bus link connects Reading town centre and Autism Berkshire’s office

We are delighted to be able to announce that reaching our office by bus is now much easier, thanks to a new Reading Buses’ route launched this week.

The Buzz, route number 42, runs between the town centre and the Rivermead Leisure Complex, on the other side of Richfield Avenue from our office.

You can catch the service, which is operated by Mercedes Sprinter minibuses in a special Buzz livery, from stop MP in Minster Street and stop CS in St Mary’s Butts.

The journey from the town centre to Rivermead takes about 10 minutes. The Buzz also serves Kenavon Drive.

A limited number of off-peak services on route 28 between Caversham Park and Kentwood Hill also serve Rivermead.

To reach our office in Richfield Place, leave Rivermead on foot, cross to the opposite side of Richfield Avenue and turn right. Walk past Fun and Frolics and World of Carpets. You should then turn left into Richfield Place, in front of the GMB union’s office at Eleanor Marx House.

We hope that as many people as possible will use the new bus service when attending workshops or visiting the office for other events or to borrow items from our library of books about autism and sensory items.

We are only able to offer parking outside the office on weekdays for disabled drivers (please contact the Autism Berkshire office in advance if you need a space) and the only car parking places available nearby are pay-and-display spaces at the Rivermead Leisure complex.
