We are delighted to be able to invite autistic children who live in Berkshire – and their siblings – aged 8 to 12, to take part in a fun Forensic Science Experience with a real-life CSI next month.
This free event is supported by British Science Week 2022, which runs from March 11 to 20.
We ran a similar event online last year, due to Covid restrictions, but this year’s will take place as a group session at Emmer Green Community Centre, in Reading, on Saturday, March 12, from 1pm to 2.30pm.
Children will meet former Metropolitan Police forensic scientist Hayley Scott and learn how to search for clues at the scene of a burglary to help solve the crime.
They will take fingerprints and find traces of DNA for testing, watch videos of interviews with suspects in the investigation and work together to decide who is the burglar.
Please note that parents will need to remain at the venue during the session. Tea and coffee will be provided.
