The Berkshire Adult Autism Support Service’s face-to-face problem-solving and advice meet-ups are coming to Slough.
The service is launching monthly sessions in the town later this month for autistic adults who live in the east of Berkshire and their parents and family carers.
Starting on Thursday, February 27, the meet-ups will take place on the last Thursday morning of each month from 10.45am to noon, at Slough Town Football Club’s Arbour Park Stadium, in Stoke Road.
They will offer an opportunity for autistic adults and their families, who are registered as patients at a GP surgery in Berkshire, to get advice from one of the service’s adult autism support mentors about problems that are worrying them and information about where to find help.
Please note that the service is specifically funded to provide support to people who do not meet criteria for help from other NHS-funded specialist services, such as mental health and learning disability teams.
The service has been running meet-ups in Reading since early 2023 and face-to-face advice is also available at meetings of Autism Berkshire’s Bear With Me social group, which meets weekly on Wednesday evenings in Maidenhead.
Autism Berkshire’s chief executive officer, Jane Stanford-Beale MBE, said: “We offer advice and information to autistic adults and their families in various ways. We know that people living in Slough, Maidenhead and Windsor are not always able to travel to the meet-ups in Reading, so are pleased to be able to offer them a regular opportunity to meet our team closer to their homes.”
Please register in advance to attend a meet-up if you can, so that we know who to expect, but you are welcome to just drop in on the day if you prefer.

Meet-ups for people living in West Berkshire will resume soon in Newbury.
- The service provides a range of advice and support to autistic adults (18+), whether or not they have a formal autism diagnosis, who do not meet the criteria for help from specialist NHS-funded services, such as mental health and learning disability teams, and their parents and carers. The service is funded by the Frimley NHS Integrated Care System and the Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire & Berkshire West NHS Integrated Care System.
