Autistic adults and their parents and family carers can now register for free places at online autism advice workshops this autumn from the Berkshire Adult Autism Support Service.
These interactive workshops offer information about aspects of autism and tips and strategies to help participants to navigate daily life and social situations, improve their understanding of autism and increase their self-confidence.
They include a presentation by an Autism Berkshire adult support mentor, plus time for questions and discussion.
Free places at all these workshops can be requested by contacting the Berkshire Adult Autism Support Service by email at adult.support@autismberkshire.org.uk or calling 01189 594 594 (option 2) and leaving a voicemail message. Also use these contact details if you have any questions or would like more information about the workshops, or other help available from the service.
The workshops for autistic adults, which will take place online using Zoom on Tuesday evenings between 6pm and 8pm, are as follows
- Sensory Differences: September 9
- Planning & Organising: September 23
- Anxiety & Autism: October 7
- Understanding Other People: October 14

The Berkshire Adult Autism Support Service is also offering two free autism advice workshops this autumn for the parents and family carers – including siblings – of autistic adults during the autumn. We recommend that parents and carers attend both sessions to get the most benefit from them.
They will take place online on Zoom on Tuesday evenings, between 6pm and 8pm, as follows
- Sensory Differences and Executive Functioning: October 28
- Anxiety & Autism and Understanding Other People: November 4

Please note that for you to be eligible to attend, the person you care for must be registered as a patient with an NHS GP surgery in Berkshire. An extra parent or carer from a family is welcome to join the workshop without needing a separate booking.
