Autistic adults invited to have say at health consultation events

Thanks to a grant from the Frimley NHS Integrated Care System, Autism Berkshire is holding a series of three engagement and consultation events about health services for autistic adults living in East Berkshire in the next few weeks.

Berkshire Adult Autism Support Service logoThe aim is to gain a greater understanding of how autistic adults who live in the Bracknell Forest, Slough and Windsor & Maidenhead council areas use local health services, their experiences of contacts with community and hospital services and any challenges that they may face accessing healthcare, such as availability of reasonable adjustments at GP surgeries and other health locations.

The findings from these events will be fed back to Frimley ICS and other local authorities to help with the development of autism-appropriate local services and of NHS long-term plans.

We hope to be joined for these sessions by representatives of Frimley ICS and the local councils.

The three events are as follows – please register in advance, to help us know who to expect:

  • Slough: Thursday, January 30, 11am to 12.30pm, in the Council Chamber at the borough council’s head office at 25 Windsor Road – click here to register.
