Statement about the future of the Bear With Me social group

After providing the Bear With Me social group for autistic adults in Maidenhead for 18 years, Autism Berkshire will be transferring it to a new charity from November.

The new organisation is being formed by Scott Harris, the co-ordinator of Bear With Me, who has been part of Autism Berkshire’s team since 2016.

It will develop help for autistic adults in Maidenhead, drawing on Scott’s extensive experience supporting them and in the education sector.

We are delighted to be able to pass on a strong and successful group to him.

This change reflects Autism Berkshire’s shift in focus over the past decade to providing high-quality information and advice services for autistic people and their families in the county through our Helpline, workshops, courses and problem-solving meet-ups.

Members of the Bear With Me group will be given more information about the new arrangements shortly.

We wish the new charity and Bear with Me every success in the future and will continue to co-operate with them to ensure the best possible services are available for autistic adults in the Maidenhead area.
